Hi All,

I powered-up my G5 today and it was all a shade of blue. My first
experience of ColourSync. I ran the first aid thing and got this:

/Library/Application
Support/Adobe/Color/Profiles/Recommended/CoatedFOGRA27.icc
Tag 'desc': Tag size is not correct.

So...I found this http://forums.adobe.com/thread/371295 and removed the
description from the Coated FOGRA27 profile.

Since then the repair utility tells me all the profiles are good but
everything is still very blue. It's better than it was (i think!) but seems
like there's a real lack of the colour red in particular.

Is there a way to re-install all of the profiles?

I don't have the system disks as a bought a preloaded HDD from eBay. It
came with an older Photoshop version and Elements and this may have caused
the problem.

Thanks,
Evan

This is a profile for a particular brand of coated paper.

Well, first, the ONLY color profile that has anything to do with the screen is the screen profile, whcih you can set up yourself in the Display properties.

Second, sudden changes in monitor color cast are almost invariably due to hardware issues rather than color profiles. Check your monitor and cabling first. A sudden lack of one color can mean a bad video cable; I see this all the time with computers that are jammed back up against the wall bending the video cables very sharply; this leads to broken wires.

Test with a different monitor if possible, or the monitor on another device.

Try zapping the PRAM. I had this issue when I changed monitors on my
old Smurf and it took care of the problem.
