Can anyone tell me more (tonight hopefully), about this 23" Apple Cinema Display HD?
Identifiers: Aluminum - M9178LL/A - A1082

In particular, is it from the later made models that had 700:1 contrast ratio, as opposed to the early ones that had 400:1?

Here are some research sites:

This site: http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html/ with Serial number: 2A6311H8UG0 shows it was made in August 2006, Production Week 31.

This other site states Apple changed the specs on August 7, 2006: http://www.everymac.com/monitors/apple/studio_cinema/specs/a pple_cinema_display_23.html, from 400:1 to 700:1 for the 23" display.

Do you know if this particular display has this improved quality?

I have seen some Apple Support Group discussion on the subject, but could not draw a favorable conclusion.

Never mind.

It took so long to have this posted, it doesn't matter anymore.

Its going bak to the seller.

BTW ... I decided it is 400:1.

Since its not a G3-G5, I'm surprised the Nanny let it go through.

I was also using it on a Mac Pro ...
