Past few days I've tried to use AuroraFox 16 and its been beachballing
incessantly and then provoking a spindump---which I've managed to
disable. I thought it was simply time to upgrade, but, AuroraFox 17
and 20 are doing the same thing. I added no new addons, and no other
browser is giving me trouble, not even SeaMonkey with the same addons.
Anyone else having trouble? I wanted to stay on the latest AuroraFox
version which would let me easily use Flash {which is what, 17?]

I've been using AuroraFox 17 for some months now on a 1GhHz PB under 10.5.8
- no problems for my rather light-weight browsing, e.g., mostly text while
searching forums for answers to tech questions about ancient HW/SW (the
G3-5 list, for example!). The only time it bogs down is when I have more
than a few tabs looking at eBay items...

Cheers,
Michael

I switched to the Nightly build of AuroraFox 17 on the suggestion of
Tobias and 1 problem went away: my virtual memory usage went down by
half.

I then removed Greasemonkey 1.6 and the rest of the problems went away
entirely. Actually, I switched to Scriptish and have had no problems.

I would vouch for AuroraFox 17 as the best PPC browser if you want to
run plug-ins. Seamonkey 2.14 is almost as fast but not nearly as
elegant and has far less extensions. The speediest stock browser on my
G5 is OmniWeb 5.11.2, which is a bit of a mystery to me since Leopard
Webkit is actually kind of slow. Maybe because OmniWeb is a closed
browser? All I know is it runs scripts and things on Yahoo faster than
Mozilla browsers even with NoScript controlling what loads.
