OK the reboot was insanely bad in many ways, but they did do some things
right.

1) They cast everyone really well. The actors are great! Beautiful cast.

2) it was an action movie. THANK YOU! We want exciting outer-space
action and adventure.

3)... (your comments?)

Spock kissed a beautiful woman, his girlfriend/lover.

Kirk was making out with a woman.

Conclusion: Kirk and Spock are GAY!

Reasoning: Copulation and full-frontal nudity were not shown (off-
camera?) so we MUST conclude that nothing happened and Kirk and Spock
are actually gay lovers. Their fighting was actually foreplay.

That makes about as much sense as anything else you say...which isn't
much.

They've got the next title right. "Into the Darkness" ... exactly where
the real "Star Trek" franchise has gone. :-(

Mostly Urban and Quinto (for his looks) ... The rest.... Maybe Pine and
Saldana.

They really got Scotty and Chekov wrong I think.

Is that the /only/ thing we want?

At best a distorted mosaic of Trek images and sound bites, all jumbled up.
It really is an /alternate/ universe. Even the 'future' part of what is/was
considered 'our' Trek universe (from when Old Spock came from), was
alternate.

Kirk: "My God, Bones... what have I done?"
McCoy: "What you had to do. What you always do: turn death into a fighting
chance to live."

Yes, it's good that that was made explicit. Otherwise would have been
completely intolerable.

While the film was being produced, a well-known computer scientist and
Star Trek fan, Dr. Randy Pausch, was dying of pancreatic cancer.

The producers heard about it, and granted Dr. Pausch a last wish: He
got a cameo part in the movie. He got to wear a Star Trek uniform--and
he even got a line to say.

No names in a non-movie is fair.
No big name star's career, would have survived it,

It had no plot, and way overdone CGI,....that's not an action
adventure,....it's a "road-runner" cartoon.
I'm surprised they didn't have the characters ordering things from ACME.

Total Kaa-Kaa
But I have a feeling when the second one comes out, we will all say how much
better the first was.

Why should I? TPM believes that Roddenberry and the ENTIRE cast and
crew concocted TOS, for 3 seasons, with a hidden K/S subtext that only
the DISCERNING can comprehend. TPM believes that Kirk and Spock were
physical lovers. She is a well-known psychiatric patient in several
mental hospitals throughout the United States, especially in her home
town of Fresno, the dullest burgh in America.
