I've never known of anyone moderating this NG. I setup a pretty broad
filter so I never see them.

It's not. You couldn't just post here otherwise.

Seems you use Google Groups. You could at least flag these messages as
spam. Better use a real newsserver known to have a good clean sweep.

I have been marking messages as spam or as hateful content. I don't know if this is doing any good.

Very little spam here on Aioe.org (some in other groups though,
almost all coming _from_ Google Groups). Google don't have a
reputation for caring much about their Usenet interface, you'd
be better off moving to a real newsserver where the admin is
active in filtering spam. Aioe in particular doesn't suit
everyone, but there are lots of options.

The only SPAM I get on this group is similar messages in Italian
which always contains the word 'PEDOFILO' in the subject so I just
set a scoring rule to ignore threads with that in the title.
Hopefully, you can do something similar.

Best wishes

Lorry

A proper newsreader has killfiles and scorefiles.
You can figure out how to use them ..or maybe you can't.

Everyone please ignore that killfiles/filtering
exists in Newsreaders because That Guy has doesn't
have the hugcircle attitude. All Decent People
want to help those who don't want to Google things
for themselves.

Most likely all this will do is get the group dropped by Google Groups.
Whether or not this is a good thing depends on whether you view the
Google Groups gateway to Usenet as a net good.

Regards,
Tristan
