Prop up the economy with NES carts [message #20981] |

In the United States at least, we have a problem. Our money is what is known as "Greenbacks" or "greenbacked" which doesn't refer to the color but the fact that there's nothing behind it - no gold, silver, or anything else. The only thing that makes currency valuable is the fact that people say it is, and an intricate system of IOU trading that I would need another degree to understand.
I was looking at the rarity of particular NES games and realized something.... with all the games in circulation, why don't we use NES games as currency? Clearly they have accepted value... $0.10 USD for a SMB/Duckhunt, more for other games. You would of course have to use games where at least several copies exist (using a Xybots proto wouldn't do you any good, because there's no agreed-upon value).
Why not? Just forgo the Ebay crap and trade them like cash. Anybody with me?
