thistle-thorn:
So back when B5 was “live” I initially couldn’t watch the show when it aired because I didn’t have cable. So my college friend would tape B5 straight off of the TV then send me the tapes (later I got cable so I could watch B5)
My friends and I would have these gaming weekends at my apartment when we could all get together so one time my B5 friend arranged to meet earlier so that I could watch the latest episode. He was the ride for another one of our gaming buddies (who did not watch B5) so here is what happened when they arrived…
Non B5 friend - “Where is everybody else?”
Me - “You guys are about an hour and a half early.”
Non B5 friend - “Oh, well we can still play a quick 3 player game.”
B5 friend - “We are going to watch the latest Babylon 5 episode. I’ve got the tape in my backpack.”
Non B5 friend - “…I’ve heard you talk about this show, but really can’t you watch it later?”
Me - “We are watching it now. It’s only an hour.”
Non B5 friend - “Fine, but I don’t see the big appeal here.”
The tape was put in and the show started. It was Severed Dreams.
After the show ended my non-B5 friend turned to me, “So you have all the shows on tape? I must have them ALL right now.”
Yep. Severed Dreams will do that to just about anybody.
