Blenko Glass is till in business:

https://blenko.com/blenko-catalogs

In 1976, I watched them making stained glass sheets. Blow a large
cylindrical bottle, cut off top & bottom, split down the side, put in
an open furnace. Guys with long-handled tools and tinted glasses
keep a sharp watch and just as the cylinder begins to collapse on
itself, they adroitly flip left and right, opening it into a sheet. A
brief wait while it settles flat, then it's moved out of the heat with
a long-handled pizza shovel to cool.

Amazing to watch numerous guys walking around with no detectable
choreography, carrying blow pipes or punties with big gathers of
glowing glass on the end, some times swinging them in roundhouse arcs.
And nobody gets burned. I guess you learn to Pay Attention all the
time.

Notable for a blacksmith: In smithing, you laboriously push iron
ahead of the hammer every inch of the way. With hot glass, the medium
wants to wander off on its own in response to gravity and you have to
keep chasing after it and fetching it back.
