In a nutshell, it works great.

Basically I've got a ROM 01 IIgs connected to a 70" Sharp Aquos Quattron via a VidHD.
With the large screen I needed to be sitting about 5m away for optimum viewing, hence the need for wireless peripherals.

I connected a Wombat USB-ADB converter from Big-Mess-O-Wires to a Logitech K270 & M185 keyboard-mouse wireless combo (with USB dongle).
Then I connected a Playstation 3 bluetooth controller to an 8BitDo SNES receiver which was plugged into a ByteBoosters SNES-to-AppleII joystick adapter.

It all just works and there is no latency that I've noticed.

I've successfully played all my favourite Apple II games like Rescue Raiders, Choplifter, Conan, Wings of Fury, etc and whilst the joystick setup is not analogue or digitally-proportional, I had no problems with these games.

So if anyone else was considering it, it's a great setup IMHO and the big screen clarity is amazing.

How does the digital stick control work with a title like Airheart? Can you still get the same level of control over your craft? In Wings of Fury, have you been able to land your plane on the aircraft carrier with digital control? Do flight simulators play well enough without an analogue stick?

Yes I can land the plane on the ship in Wings of Fury. I use a long run-up and get the plane gliding at just the right height. Then I lower the plane onto the deck of the boat as close to the beginning of the boat as possible.. Then, once the planes wheels are on the deck, move the joystick in the opposite direction to 'hit the brakes' and the plane will drop the tail and get hooked up. I usually make it with one or two wire-catches to spare.

I think it is easier with an analogue control, but after a few goes it's easy enough with the digital control.

I can't speak to the other games you asked about as I don't play them. Obviously if a game relies on an analogue control for proper gameplay, a digital control could be problematic.

My suggestion to anyone considering it, is to connect a digital control to their computer and test the game with an emulator first.
