After having called suppliers all over the United States,
I just bought the 850 interface at a local Sears store
by the skin of my teeth (200 bucks + tax!).
According to the buyer from Stereo Discounters,
Baltimore, Md., Atari will no longer supply the 850
interface as a single sale item. You must now buy the
Atari Communicator Kit (850,modem,telelink II).
Computer Mail Order West will only supply 850's with
an order for a printer or modem (Atari of course).
By the way, I already had a nonAtari modem, and would
still like to buy a nonAtari printer!
As far as I'm concerned, Atari has just taken another
step backwards.
