I don't know about sourcing a stock replacement (except for cannibalizing a dead unit) but I just watched a YouTube review of a replacement Disk ][ LED built by Plamen of a2heaven.com, that changes colors depending on the type of drive activity! It is still being tested so it isn't up on his web store yet.
The review was done at Kansasfest 2019 by Javier Rivera, Chris Torrence and Joe of Joe's Computer Museum. Looks pretty cool!

Have you tried to find a schematic and parts list for that floppy drive model number? They may give you an idea of the volts, amps, and size of the L..E.D. you need. You might find a schematic and parts list for it on Asimov.. It is probably just a standard red L.E.D. from the time of manufacture that you could still get at an electronics supply store or Radio Shack (if they are still around--{I thought they went out of business!}).

I've actually been using a standard red LED and some jumpers in the interim.. It looks like I need to get a molex connector and use a smaller (3mm) LED.. I'm going to have to 3D printer a little adapter to make the round LED fit in the square hole - that'll be the trickiest part.

You can buy those 3mm square L.E.D.s in any color you like at electronics stores, too. [I found a red (clear-plastic) one within a bottle-rocket (toy) a couple years ago after the fourth of July (in my backyard), batteries included. It is very bright, like a laser-light. It also had an on/off switch between it and the batteries.]
