The following was seen in EDN magazine.

Sony and 12 other companies have agreed to a standard 3.5 inch
floppy-disk format. The agreement calls for an 80 track disk with
135 tpi density, storing .5 meg bytes per side. The disk comes
inside a 90 x 94 x34 mm cartridge.

The companies:
ATARI, Shugart Associates, Verbatim, Fuji, TDK, Athana, BASF,Memorex
3M, Wabash, Datatech, Xidex, and Sony.

Does this mean that we will, in the near future, see a new
disk drive for the Atari computers?
