Wow! I’m amazed and impressed! The new shounen anime “Dr. Stone” actually has some real science in it. This is the first time I’ve seen something like this in an anime since “Marie and Gali” way back in 2009.
The premise is a bit out there: A strange green light illuminates the entire Earth and all humans and some birds are petrified into stone. But some of the humans maintain their consciousness during the petrification and finally after around 3700 years two teens, science genius Senku and his not-very-bright but earnest friend Taiju, are mysteriously released from their imprisonment. Senku is determined to re-establish Civilization and also to find out a way to release more humans from their petrification. Taiju is happy to support Senku because he wants to free the girl he likes.
The first episode was funny and very smart. It’s a shounen anime so it has plenty of shounen aspects, but that doesn’t take away from the fun. I’m looking forward to watching more and my initial rating is B+.

Looks like the dream of the militant environmentalists. Back to zero,
and reboot. :-)
But the anime shows sofar also that there is no advance without
science. Praying and staying with that, what already exists since
ancient times, gains nothing.
