I am not going to power it up till I check to make sure chips are correctly seated.

Any tips for what to check on the motherboard before turning it on?

I know at least it beep on power on and beeps a bit later, they had no display or drives to verify...

It is money back if DOA or so buyer verified to me via email.

I know to check and remove the battery from under the power supply.

I have ordered a replacement power supply as well..

The double beep sounds good... that'll be startup and then no boot drive. If you've got drives or a picture, I think I'd just go for it. There's not much that'
s socketed for an extra push

If it is a ROM 01 IIgs, the battery is soldered in. There are numerous
web pages that tell you how to change it, but this one is as good as
any:

Thank you for the link.

I guess it is time to learn those soldering skills from mom. She did that kind of work since she first got into electronics building boards for Digital back in the late 60s.

Thank you.

I got this ][ gs about a week ago. I don’t know how it was stored but that thing was show room new. No dust, crud, rust and seems, from some slight dirt marks on the smart port, keyboard and monitor connection that is was setup but rarely used then stored for years.

The Apple ram card was populated with 256k of memory so this ROM 1 ran on about a half a meg.

Not having received the MicroDrive/turbo as of yet I am unable to boot but the VideoHD card works great on my 19 inch cheap old hdtv from Walmart for $88. Ram is showing the 8 megs and uthernet ll power and activity lights all seems to be blinking..

To add to this collection we have a CF reader for the Mac. Converting the Rasp Pi into AFPBridge using A2server. Looking at Tree Hugger printing. And really trying to dive into what I read in this months JuicedGs. I see an update LaserWriter printer on the kfest site might also be a valuable tool for other printing option like converting that document into PDF say via Preview and printing it out of a more modern printer as a pdf.

I will say it is nice to be back to the ][gs since mine was stolen in a house break in during the early 90s. I assume my little old GS probably was taken as the thief thought that GS was a several thousand Mac model at the time.

I ordered some ds/dd 3.5 and a null modem for use with ADTPRO. I have installed Applecommander to modify images on the CF card of the MicroDrive / turbo.

I have 2 3.5 non UniDisk versions arriving today.

I want to thank the community for the help and support for getting me back to a computer I really enjoyed just over 20 years ago..

Leon
