Has anyone tried printing, or is there currently a way to print from GS application to a modern printer.

Perhaps using Harmony printer drivers to Cups and out through that to a connected printer?

I don't recall a GS printing to a printserver.... except over Appletalk. If you set up A2server to look like a AppleTalk server with printer, you could probably redirect it to cups on the linux side of things.

Never tried, its just a thought.

I read that last night.

Going to try and make connection to the printer.

I was able to select print from multiple file menus with no error while the print file was being rendered.

Later today I will see if I can connect it to a laser printer I have here in the house.

I will post my findings here and most likely questions that might be better suited to the emulator group.

GSport's Virtual ImageWriter is written as a modular C++ library. It
wouldn't be too difficult to write a serial port daemon that would
monitor and render incoming printer data from a real Apple II.

So. Forgetting to install CUPS on the PI. All my printing failed to get to the printer connected directly to the PI via USB. I saw all the print 'spool' files on the HD from each different configuration.

So.

I now have CUPS client installed and am going to be testing but I wonder if CUPS printer server might have been a better option.

Well.

Test, Test, Test.
