Hi everyone!

We created a new Mockingboard music player but we don't have a real Mockingboard to test on actual hardware. It works in Applewin, Virtual II, Jace, microM8 etc but we need to see if it works on a real Apple II+ or IIe so if you have a Mockingboard please give it a try and let us know... (right now it needs to be in slot 4)

It's an IRQ-based player so after you choose a song it will load and then go back to the menu. Music should start playing after it finishes loading...

Thanks!

You can get the disk image from http://paleotronic.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/mtrkdemo.z ip

No audio on a ROM01 IIgs with a Phasor in slot 4 (set to your card). Phasor set to Mockingboard mode via dip switches. Music Construction Set works.

Phasor software (which polls) and Ultima 5 (uses an interrupt) both play music -- though I did apply the IIgs music fix for Ultima 5.

No luck here either. Selecting a song from the menu results in loading activity and the return to the menu, but music playback never commences.

My //e is equipped as follows:

Aux Slot - Apple //e Extended 80-Column Text Card
Slot 1 - Apple Super Serial Card
Slot 2 - Apple II Mouse Card
Slot 3 - Passport MIDI Interface Card
Slot 4 - Sweet Micro Systems Mockingboard C (Rev. D)
Slot 5 - Apple II Memory Expansion Card
Slot 6 - Apple Disk II Interface Card
Slot 7 - Apple II High-Speed SCSI Card

Would you be willing to make it Echo+ compatible as well? Not THAT different ;-)

I do have the hardware, so could test on weekends.

Thanks for trying! We traced Ultima IV and found some of our behaviour was different and so we've made it consistent with UIV... I've updated the disk image at the download link if you'd be game to try again? =)

Works on my Rom01 IIgs with a Phasor in slot 4 now.
