When I try to connect to irc.a2central.com, it tells me that I am **Not Registered** and then disconnects me.
I have searched this group and the rest of Google and I cannot seem to find anywhere that mentions a registration or how to accomplish this. I have also emailed a2central for help but have not gotten a reply.
Has anyone a clue they could spare?

Tried it (http://irc.a2central.com) and got nowhere. Tried http://a2central.com/irc and got "The page you requested is no longer here [error 404]." Tried http://a2central.com/ and got through. What does "irc" stand for?

I can connect to it using irssi on my raspberry pi cli, but I am trying to use Samurai IRC Desk Accessory on the IIgs itself and I get this message every time. Not sure why. I have asked Ninja Force via email. I can connect to DALnet and other popular IRC servers with Samurai with no issues, just not a2central, which is the only server I really want to use.
Has anyone ever used Samurai IRC on the IIgs?

I can't say I have but a few years ago, anyway, I used ArchaeoIRC
(self-written client) on an IBM 5160 to connect to A2Central and it worked
fine then...

I have used Samurai to connect to irc.a2central.com before, but it was a couple of years ago now and my IIgs is not on my "retro-desk" at present (I rotate them around).
At least you know it is (or maybe *was*) possible to do what you are trying to do.
I've got II+ parts all over my "retro-desk" right now, so I don't expect to get my IIgs out for at least a few weeks. :-(

I've used samurai for a2central successfully, but that is before they updated their irc server.
I'll suggest you use another client to register (instructions on registering an nick available under the help nickserv text or wiki) and then login with samurai once you have setup nick registration with another client. Report back here of your progress and where you got stuck.

I tried your suggestion and it still does not work. I can connect via irssi cli client in linux, register and use my own username/password. But when I try it from Samurai, I get the same results as before. Tells me I am not registered and drops my connection. Sometimes, it locks up the entire computer and even the ol' three-finger salute will not reset things, causing me to dump power at the PS switch.
