This seems like a terrific case-study in how not to run a business. Does anyone happen to have a copy of the Apple II High-Speed SCSI Card Reference they would like to sell?

Hope you paid by Paypal. You have 60 days to file a grievance to get your money back. Since Feb has 28 days, you will have to file it today.

Is Syndicomm still Tony Diaz?

Yes, as far as I can tell.

I have a similar issue with an order I placed on 20-Feb-2018. Still "processing", and all my emails requesting a status update go unanswered. I am at the point where I'll probably have to open a dispute through my credit card.

Really wish people would stop asking if he is ok. Last time I heard he was ill, he still attended Kfest. If you give him your money and are not willing to file a grievance or dispute with Paypal or your Credit card company for not receiving an item, then that is just the price of doing business. No one to blame but yourselves.

Generally speaking, I think there's probably a greater desire to actually receive the materials than pursue a refund. The larger problem seems to be the exclusivity of many items offered through Syndicomm. If not for that, and given the recurring pattern of obligation/fulfillment paralysis, I'm not sure anyone would bother with the gamble otherwise.

I get that. There are so few distributors for Apple products, people are willing to give the benefit of the doubt in hopes of finally receiving the product whether it be an extra month, an extra year or even 10 years down the road. After all, no one is offering Apple II hardware to make a living and the products they offer are just a sideline and may take extra time to process. The downside is, these kinds of threads tend to dominate the forums.

And even worse, those who defend him come across as if it is some kind of inside joke for Tony not to respond, especially since the ones who defend him have created a re-pore with Tony, have given Tony good business and have always received there goods from Tony. The ones who seem to be getting burned are the newbies, or ones who have never made a purchase from him yet.

I guess the question you should ask yourself is, how bad do you want the product. If you want it that bad, you can always go to Kfest and introduce yourself.

I hereby give up.

I'm very disappointed to hear this. Tony could be slow to respond at times,
but I always took him to be basically honest.

Been quite a while since I commented on anything here (was on an Apple II FB Group for a while though not lately).

I know the subject of Tony was heavily discussed a while back I am up late and poking around online and wondered what happened to some of the online stores including Tony and Syndicomm.

I noticed Tony posted this in 2017....but doesn't seem this was mentioned in the group anywhere:

Mental illness is no joke. I do hope Tony is ok, but sometimes, life happens and you have to decide what's important to you. One of the reasons small businesses don't last. They are run by one or two people.

Best of luck for those still trying to get stuff from Tony.
