You go away for a few weeks, and OY what you have to read...

Be that as it may, the story in an earlier article about the boy picking up
early X-Men for $36, reminds me of how I got my first CEREBUS #1.

I had been introduced to CEREBUS the summer of 81 and was going crazy trying
to find back issues (those of you who are just now discovering "the killer who
looks like a bunny REALLY have my sympathy in finding back issues). I was
living in Philadelphia at the time (which made considerable sense since I
was going to DREXEL at the time). The summer con was taking place, and I
figured, what the fsck, I'll check it out, maybe I can find issue 12 or 13.

Well, I was wandering around asking different people if they had any earlier
issues of CEREBUS THE AARDVARK (you got a LOT of strange looks asking that
question in 1981) when one man at a small table answered me with, "Well,I
have one." "Which one?" "Number one." It cost me $30. When Dave and Deni
were at Geppies two years ago they not only authenticated it, but remembered
the batch it came from.

OK other news. My brother, Broome, sent news from Albany, it doesn't look
good for Pacific Comics. To me, one of the more interesting facts is that
people in Albany don't seem too upset about this news. My feelings are,
well, I really hate to see ANY of the alternative comic companies go under
as I feel they are the BEST thing to come along in comics in a long time,
but I think I am only buying two regular Pacific comics now anyway. Can
anyone confirm on deny this rumor?

			That's all for now people,
