Re: sdchema!gino's request about comic-book books:
I recommend "The Great Comic Book Heroes" (no doubt out of print)
by Jules Feiffer, (c) 1965 by the Dial Press. Library of Congress #65-23962.
If I may quote from the dust cover:
"Along with his trenchant and wryly written critique are
128 pages of accurate color reproductions of the most famous
heroes of all... Included are the origins and early expolits
of Superman and Batman, the very first Green Lantern story;
as well as classic exploits of The Spirit, The Spectre,
Sub-Mariner, Captain Marvel, Captain America, The Flash,
Plastic Man, The Human Torch, Hawkman, and Wonder Woman..."
Really, he could only publish a single page of Captain Marvel
(the SHAZAM-sayer of 1940's fame, not the recent Marvel Comics spaceman)
due to copyright problems at the time.

P.S.:
Your dad gave you the Smithsonian book on Comic book Comics, Gino?
Wow! My dad thinks I'm insane to be reading comics at 26 years!
