Time for another book review(let) folks....

I just finished Moreta: Dragonlady of Pern by Anne McCaffery, the seventh
(eighth?) book of Pern. It is a bit of a change from the other books,
because it does not continue either of the story lines she has started. The
biggest change for me is the flavor of the book. The earlier books were
good, but they seemed like they were excercises in creating a world and
playing with it. Moreta is very much about the people of Pern (two major
characters in particular) and the story is in a much smaller orientation
than the others. I found this change to be very pleasing, but then I like
people stories.

If you liked the other Pern stories, this is a must. If you haven't read
any, this is a good book to start with. Either way, this is a book you
should real.

Chuqui rating: 8 clouds of plaid smoke (out of 10).
Worth buying in hardback, at cost (a rare honor!)
