What video card and cable do I need to add to hook up a Viewsonic P815
monitor to my 9600?

Thanks for the help.

Join the swap list if you need t buy something to make it work.

The monitor has a VGA connector. Fine if your version of the iX Mircro Twin
Turbo 128 has both the Apple and the VGA connector.

If you only have the Apple display connector you will need a converter
plug.

A WTB post on the swap list would find one fast.

If you need a video card a VooDoo 3DFX card is a good cheap substitute. But
there are more that would work. Watch the prices. These should not be that
much. This is ancient history. And really not that rare.

Adrian,

Thank you very much for the information.

I plan to do CAD work on the 9600 and also some high resolution graphics
printing.

The monitor has a VGA port. It also has the RGB and Horizontal and
Vertical sync connections. I was thinking of getting a card that has RGB
etc. out.

I have a Viewsonic converter plug.

The card needs to have good capability. I can afford to spend some money
on a good one, even on the LEM swap group.

Also, any recommendations on a cable?

I am running the 9600 on 9.2 and 10.3.9.

Thanks again for the input.

Look around on LEM and the web for compatible cards then. I don't know what
the ultimate card for the machine is.
For CAD a card with 3D in the name or aimed at gamers would work.
Get the one with the most RAM of course and Max out you system RAM.
I assume you have a G3/G4 card to be running OSx already.

Adrian,

I will look. A gamer's card would be a logical choice.

The 9600 is maxed out on RAM.

So, I will look for the card and a cable.

Thanks again for the good advice.

Neal

P.S. I do have a G4 card in it, though I can't remember which one.
