Fanfox.net has some novels but not densely concentrated as they
do with the Chinese comics, the manga and the Korean comics.

Oh they are there seems like one out every hundred or so new posting is
now a novel. But I read the listingd twice a day ~12 hours
apart. You will have to do search on novels if you expect to find
them without similar intense scrutiny. Suppose the next novel listing
I find I post here? But I will do only one or two of these to prove
my point then ignore the novels as I prefer mine from the SFPL-Main.
Screen reading is painful for me even with manga these days and I
prefer to hold the actual reading down to a few chapters a day.

bliss - currently reading Mou Ippon a HS girls judo story
and a few others.

If this is novelupdates.com, they index *everyone* else,
including hundreds of sites you haven't listed. The only
site you need if you're interested in this stuff.

Yes, I agree, novelupdates.com is the place to go to. They are
pretty close to complete, and have a good review, forum, and recommendation
system (unlike a lot of untrustworthy review sites).

But be aware if you are interested in more general webnovels that
novelupdates.com lists only translated novels with Asian origins.
For example, the original English webnovels of RoyalRoad would not
appear there, even if dealing with Chinese (or Japanese) themes and
backgrounds.

I checked my bookmarks. It is novelupdates.com. I have it bookmarked
but haven't done anything further. Are there benefits to registering?
IIRC, the reason I didn't pursue it more aggressively is that I see the
titles but no understanding of what the story is about.

I'm not quite sure I understand the second paragraph. If you mean
being able to search a web site using its genre and tag labels, yes,
that leads to the gripe I have with a lot of the sites out there
hosting anime, manga and novels - the lack of decent search
capabilities. Too frequently, many of the sites allow you to search
using only one subitem of a category at a time. I've found a few that
allow you to do a Boolean search - choosing multiple sub-category items
simultaneously, for example, action AND comedy AND slice of life. I
think I've only found two or three sites that sub-categorize novels
into Japanese, Chinse and Korean. It'd be nice to find more sites that
do that because I've discovered as I read the novels, each has their
own narrative characteristics and I favor the Japanese novels because
I'm willing to read the story for a longer period of time.

My second paragraph was just pointing out that novelupdates.com only
lists Asian translated novels; it doesn't list novels originally
written in English.

Novelupdates is *big*. Their forum has many millions of messages, for
example, with 8900 users currently online. I can't find a count of the
number of novels listed, but in the tens of thousands at least.

https://www.novelupdates.com/series-finder/ should satisfy any Boolean
search requirements you have; it's incorporated into most of the
search options.

Copy the title along with the author's name to a search engine.
Some titles are reused as different authors retell them and I think here
of the classics which are frequently used as base materials such as
"Journey to the West" which is at the base of several manga and animated
and live action movies.

Thanks. That should do the trick.
