Pet peeve. Just last night I couldn't figure out how to disassemble a
defunct generator. Today, just an exploded parts diagram fixed me
right up. A video would have cost me actual money for excess bits,
been bore to watch and might never have resolved my ignorance.

This was all predictable back in the 90s when users were piping though
2400 bps POTS modems and web page authors were using 5K GIFs of
5-letter words for eye-candy coolth.

Text & diagrams, in some cases photos, are typically better than amateur
video.

My favourite from that time was an otherwise-simple web site that
downloaded a 500K image of its logo. To add insult to injury,
the image was a very simple one that should have been a 10K GIF.

Walking up McElroy Hill in ninety-degree weather with no water is
typically better than amateur video.

And about ninety percent of "professional" video.

That's no good at all. Plus, that's no hill.
