Hello,

I trying to determine if the operating system developed at MIT Architecture
Machine Group still exists in some form. It was initially called MAGIC
(Mockapetris and Gregory's Interactive Computer). A later version was written
in a subset of PL/1 and was called MagicSix. It ran on Interdata, later Perkin-
Elmer, minicomputers.

I have collected some tidbits of information here:

Best regards,

I have now heard from some MIT Media Lab people that were among the last few
MagicSix users. They haven't seen the backup tapes for some time, so by now
I guess they are lost forever.

However, the MagicSix Emacs editor called SINE was copied to the SAIL PDP-10
from which there are backups in excellent condition. Ted Anderson and Bruce
Baumgart are helping me locate the files.
