I think you are probably after one of these:
* A2ix
* cAndy Apple (http://www.zerohoh.com/candyapple)
* KEGS IIgs Emulator

I've only personally tried cAndyApple and KEGS (both a few years ago) and they seemed pretty solid (if a little hard to use the on-screen controls).

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Mike

Oh I forgot to mention - both A2ix and KEGS are available via the Play Store, (I couldn't see cAndyApple on there any longer). The cAndyApple site I linked to previously has APK files you can manually install should you choose to do so.

Cheers,
Mike

Thanks. My tablet also has a separate keyboard - will that help with using cAndyApple?

Yes, I imagine this will make the experience much more authentic than using the on-screen controls. I'm pretty certain you can configure cAndyApple to use alternative controls. If not try A2ix.

Cheers,
Mike

Okay, I've downloaded cAndyApple from the link you gave me, but I'm not sure how to download the //E ROM for it, nor a manual. Thanks.

Have you tried running it? It's been a couple of years since I last ran it, but according to the website:

"The current state is such that it can download diskettes and a rom from the internet"

So it sounds like it should be able to download a ROM via the internet. So I suggest running it, making sure that the device has an active internet connection, and following any prompts it may give to acquire the ROM.

If you are still having issues, let me know and I'll see if I still have cAndyApple installed on one of my old phones.

Cheers,
Mike

I mostly use KEGS (IIgs emulator) under Android 6 (previously under 4.4)
on my Nexus 7. Had to jump through some hoops to customize the config.
It doesn't have the F4 menu. In fact it doesn't support any of the F
keys--including RESET (ctrl-F12). :o Other than that i'm pretty
satisfied with it.

In case anyone is interested in the hoops:

* Do any control-panel config you need (colour, boot device, etc).
(I, for one, HATE white on blue.) And exit KEGS.
* In the "com.froop.app.kegs" folder, copy "config.kegs" to
"default". (I think renaming is sufficient, as it will regenerate
"config.kegs" the next time it runs.)
* Edit "default" to add the images that you want mounted.
* When you run KEGS, just tap outside the boot menu to dismiss it.

When you use the boot menu to boot an image, it will revert to its own
defaults; but your defaults will return next time you start it.

Okay, I managed to get the ROM and a few disk images on my tablet. It boots up, and leaves me hanging with a prompt. I noticed that the screen for the emulator is kinda small. Are there any user manuals for cAndy Apple?

I still have problems with cAndy Apple, so I downloaded A2ix. It seems to be more like what I'm looking for, but I'm kinda bummed that only cAndy Apple has the floppy drive noise on the startup. ;-)

I have A2ix loaded, but I can't seem to get it to use the dsk image for Beneath Apple Manor. It does come with a few programs in it, but I'd like to use other software as well. Any manuals for it? Thanks!
