I just received a Power Macintosh 5500/250 and the device does not power
on. I get the bong indicating that it powered on, however, the builtin
Monitor does not turn on, nor does the green light in front. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Check the PRAM battery or try simply removing it.

Yes. The Macs of that era were known for doing exactly what yours is doing
when the PRAM battery is on the way out. Just disconnect the battery and
the Mac will probably power up ok (albeit with the wrong time and date).

My quadra 605 won’t boot properly without a good battery. No battery = black screen

Might listen to see if you can hear anything from the hard drive that sounds like it’s really booting …

Replacing the logic board resolved it. Makes me think it’s the logic board. On the bright side, the new one is 300mhz instead of 250.
