Cardcaptor Sakura has returned. Twenty years have passed
since the first episode of CCS was broadcasted. The same
main staff and cast have also gathered that I didn't expect.
Especially TANGE Sakura who was Sakura's VA of the original
series was seemed to have retired long ago. New OP song is
sang by SAKAMOTO Maaya again and it's charming. KANNO Yoko
didn't compose the OP though.
This is the list of my ratings to new shows based on every
first episode. Most of proper nouns in this list are my
guess instead of official ones.
Ratings may vary episode by episode.
The number isn't the rank but only a sequence for
convenience. Sorted by stars.

1) Ryuou no Oshigoto! (project No.9): ***, adh+
Yaichi, sixteen, wins the biggest shogi title Ryuou. One
day Ai, nine, visits his apartment to be his apprentice.
She is too young and Yaichi defeats her on a trial to make
her back home. However she is surprisingly potent and he
enjoys playing a game. He decides to fulfill her wish.
NOTE: There are two traditional board games of profession
in Japan: Go and Shogi. Shogi and Chess share the origin
in an ancient India's game, but Shogi evolves into very
complex and different game over time. Currently, the
youngest Shogi professional is FUJII Sota, fifteen. He
made a new record in the history by 29 consecutive wins
last year. It's amazing that he defeated a title holder
SATO Amahiko "Meijin" last week. Fujii still keeps the
highest win rate of 85% in this season.
2) Sora yorimo tooi Basho [s](MAD House): ***, adh
Mari wants something deserve to venture her adolescence.
By chance, she comes to know Shirase who plans to go to
the Antarctica. Sherase wants to find her mother who was
a member of the Antarctica expedition and was lost there
three years ago. It sounds impossible, but Mari decides
to support her.
3) Violet Evergarden (Kyoto animation): **, a+d
Violet was raised as a weapon and survived from a war where
her master got a fatal injury. Violet lost her arms and got
robotic arms. By a kind support of her gardian Hocchins,
she begins to work as a letter writing doll for customers.
Because she wants to know what exeactly her master meant
to say the last time.
4) Darling In The Franxx (Trigger + A-1 Pictures): **, a+d
Hiro is a cadet of an operator/parasite of a big mecha
Franxx (pronuncing as frank-kiss!?). The mecha needs a boy
operator and a girl as his connector to the mecha. Hiro
fails to connect the mecha via his partner Ichigo. A girl
strays into their field, and a large mecha dragon appeares
out of the blue. Hiro and the girl connect a Franxx and
destroys the dragon. This show looks like a remake of EVA.
Even studio χαρα (pronuncing ka-la) that ANNO Hideaki
founded is involved in the production.
5) Koi wa Ameagari no youni [s](WIT studio): **, adh
Akira suspends her club activity since her leg got injured.
One day in a restraurant, as she is waiting for the rain
to stop, the chief comes to her table and serves her a cup
of coffee for free. She falls in love with him and starts
to work for the restaurant.
6) Hakumei to Mikochi (Lerche): **, ahw
Hakumei reads a newspaper article about a witness of an
evening-glow-kite. To search the kite, he goes to a mountain
with Mikochi who is his landlady. Mikochi tells him that she
was feeding soup to a big white bird but it stopped to visit
her home years ago. After they spent hours on top of the
mountain, they take the soup for a break. Suddenly, a huge
raptor comes down to their back and brings them back to her
house. It's the bird she was feeding.
7) Toji no Miko (Gokumi): **, d+
Kanami is a high school student and Toji-no-Miko, girl who
kills Aratama monsters by a sacred sword. At the final of
a Miko tournament, her opponent Hiori turns to the royal
box and attacks Yukari the head of Origami clan. As Yukari
defends and the sword of a guard swings to her, Kanami
intervenes like a lightning and takes her out of the field.
8) Grancrest Senki (A-1 Pictures): *, ad
An attemp to establish the friendly relations between the
Union and the Alliance is failed by the Demon Lord. A witch
Sirca makes a contract with a noble man Artuke to support
him settle the conflict.
9) Gakuen Baby Sitters [s](Brains Base): *, hw
After Ryuichi's parents passed away in a plane accident,
a director of a high school became their guardian and they
move to her house in the school. She orders Ryuichi to
work for the school as long as his study allows. His labor
is baby sitter for teachers' kids.
10) Ramen daisuki Koizumi-san [s](Gokumi + Axsiz): *, h
Yuu wants to be a friend of a classmate Koizumi. By accident,
Yuu finds her in a waiting line at a ramen restaurant and
orders the same ramen as Koizumi who is addicted to ramen.
But Koizumi denies to be her friend.
11) Märchen Mädchen (Hoods Ent.): *, d
Hazuki is sick of a story-syndrome and has no friend at all.
She sees a witch with a dark robe, chases her and goes into
a magic academy's library by accident.
12) Yuru Camp [s](C-station): *, h
Rin camps by a lake of Mt. Fuji alone and meets Nadeshiko
who has just moved to Yamanashi. Nadeshiko rode a bycicle
to the site and can't get back home. Rin gives her a cup
ramen and call her sister on the phone.
13) Basilisk Ouka Ninpocho (Seven Arc pictures): *, d
In the 17th century, many ninja died due to the strief of
Tokugawa family. Hachiro of Koga clan and Hibiki of Iga clan
are hoped to get married to retain blood of ninja. But Iemitsu
the third shogun wants to wipe all ninja out.
14) Beatless (Diomedéa): *, d
Five experimental female robots (HIE) run away from a labo.
When a hacked car attacks Arato, an HIE saves him and makes
him her owner.
15) Slow Start [s](A-1 Pictures): w
Hana is to start her high school life. She worries about
whether she can get any friends because she wasted a year to
enter the school for some reason. But she gets friends on
the first day in the school.
16) Miira no Kaikata (8bit): h
From Egypt, Sora's father sent him a coffin in which a small
doll wrapped entirely by white band. It's a moving mummy.
Sora takes care of it as his pet.
17) Takunomi (Production AIMUSU): h
Michiru moves to Tokyo and lives in a women's share house. The
tenants give her a welcome party and drink good beer together.
NOTE: Japan produces not only Sake and Shochu but also very good
whiskey, beer and rum. Some Japanese wine also earned reputation
recent years. Especially, wine made from Japan's original grape
Koshu became famous. Most popular drink is Chu-hi that is a mix
of Shochu, fruit drink and soda because it's cheap and tasty.
18) Dame-Pri [s](studio Flood): h
Princess of Inaco visits the castle of Milidonia to sign a peace
treaty. Prince of Milidonia attends the ceremony. But he is so
useless that the signing is almost incomplete. Besides, reps from
Selenfaren seem to have a plot.
19) Idlish 7 [s](Troyca): a
Although Tsumugi is a recruit, she is assigned to a manager of a
boy's singer unit. Only three out of seven vocal candidates should
be employed. But Tsumugi finds good points in everyone and makes
all of them a unit.
20) citrus [s](Passine): a
Yuzu's mother got married to a new husband and Yuzu is transferred
to a new high school. The head of student council of the school
happens to be her new sister. A yuri series.
21) Death March kara hajimaru Isekai Kyosokyoku (Silver Link. + Connect):
In a midnight, game programer Suzuki falls aleep and trips into a
world of his working RPG where he can review various status in
small windows floating around. A lizardman army attacks him but
he wins by defeating the captain.
22) Mitsuboshi Colors [s](Silver Link.):
Colors consists of three little girls who live in Ueno area. They
patrols around Ueno Park in order to keep their town in peace.
23) Karakaijozu no Takagi-san [s?](Shin'ei Doga):
Takagi always plays a trick on her class mate Nishikata who is
trying to get back but never succeeded.
24) Kokkoku (Geno studio):
A loser's family has a power stone that throws affected people
into a stopped world where only they can move. Juri's grandfather
uses the power to save her kidnapped brothers.
25) ITOH Junji Collection (studio Deen):
A collection of stories by Itoh, a popular horror writer.
26) Hataraku Onii-san! (Tomovies):
As a part-time job of delivery serveice, boys deliver a variety
of things.
27) Sanrio Danshi [s](studio Pierrot):
Bishies playing with cards, charms, straps of Sanrio's character
that are generally known as girld's accessaries.
28) Ken Ouchou (EMT squared):
In the world where swords are whorshiped, swordmen are fighting
to get a higher class sword.
29) Pop Team Pick (Soyokaze Douga):
An ominibus gag series that's looked like a student's study.
30) Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens (Satelight): v
Story of a private detective and assassins in Hakata city of
which mayor is a shady character. A pile of dead body.
31) Killing Bites (LIDEN Films): v
Hitomi who is a half ratel girl fights against a half lion
man at Killing Bites that is a special fighting ring and she
kills him.
