I was using GSport in Windows 7 to print from the Print Shop series, but when I build a new machine with Windows 10, GSport no longer creates the BMP files. I'm using the same directory as before, and have tried moving it to/running it from Documents, Downloads, etc., thinking it was a permissions issue in 10, but no luck. Is there something I'm missing?
Thanks,
Jadan

Good question. Have you tried doing a search over the entire filesystem
for the output? I'm wondering if it lands somewhere you aren't expecting?

It seems as though it's unable to create the file in the expected location, despite the security settings on the folder, even when run as administrator. Am I dreaming the impossible dream here? DOSBox MB6 is able to create files without an issue. Thank you for your help.

I realize I'm outside of the scope of the forum theme at this point, and will understand if this isn't allowed, but this is the output from ProcMon.

Maybe create a dummy "page1.bmp" file just to see if the error changes. You will at least know if it is trying to create a new file.

Does the directory C:\gsport_0.31\ exist?

Hi Jaden,
The filename is illegal on an Apple II, but not on a PC. Replace the Underscore or the Period and any spaces with legal characters or nothing at all.
Check in the DOS 3.x or ProDOS Manuals for the rules for naming files and subdirectories.

I tried making the dummy file, but it just remained a zero byte file. I am able to print to a PDF printer, but GSport doesn't center output, so it's not directly usable. I think for now I'll just run it under a different OS via VM. Thank you all for trying to help.

The centering of output was fixed awhile ago, but hasn't been released
as a binary. The bug in Windows 10 is weird, I know it worked when I
compiled from source using VS.NET on a Windows 10 machine. It isn't
using any oddball functions, just SDL's saving commands.

Something like Epple ][ (which I could never get to build properly in Windows)'s emulation of graphic artifacts would be cool, but at this point I'll take whatever I can get.
Thanks

As far as I know, full screen hasn't been fixed. I don't have an ETA for
an updated binary. One option to try in the meantime is Dagen Brock's
fork, GSplus:
<https://github.com/digarok/gsplus>
The output code was re-written to use SDL for video and supports full
screen. I have not tested this yet, but I don't see why the printing
code wouldn't work. He forked GSport well after I made the changes to
the printer output code along with the Ensoniq bug fixes.
