Your Q840 does more than mine Robert, but I guess that's not much consolation.

I've done everything talked about here including changing PSU, processor AND caps. It still gives no chime or video. All I can do is turn it on and off!

It's a job to know when to call it quits with something like this. With hindsight, I wish I'd never wasted so much time on it. Just save the working parts for future projects is my advice....

This has to be a capacitors problem.
