I'm much happier with what I've seen of this season's shows than I was
last season (fall). So far I've only saw all the episodes of only one show
of last fall, and that was a continuing series of shorts _Nobunga no Shinobi_,
(Ninja Girl and Samurai Master) which has been a quite amusing retelling
of the history of Nobunga in 3 1/2 minute episodes. It may be worth trying
a couple of episodes to see if amuses you folks.

This season I'm watching (in mini-marathon chunks) a half dozen or so shows.
Here's my preliminary ratings on a 10 point scale with 7 being happy with
watching it and 8 being a good show that I would possibly re-watch.

_Youjo Senki_ (seen 4, rating 9) I've commented on this already and
don't want to give away too much, but definitely try two episodes of
this (I started watching the second episode, and quit after a minute,
convinced that I had clicked on an icon for a completely different
show. I hadn't). Mostly adult characters.

_ACCA-13-ku Kansata-ka_ (seen 3 rating 8) Political intrigue of an
imaginary country about to go through a leadership change as the
monarch is getting very old. Adult characters with the main
characters being well-rounded, but I was disappointed in a couple of
one-dimensional villains introduced in the last episode, so we'll have
to see.

_Onihei_ (seen 4, rating 7-8) Started watching due to Manbow Papa's
recommendation here (thanks!). Early Japanese historical setting,
following a chief inspector equivalent in the mostly lawless samurai
period. Nice understated depiction of the horrors and dangers of such
a period, especially for women. At the moment, it's mostly pretty
stand-alone episodes (ala _Joker Game_ which this reminds me of a lot),
but there may be a main plot happening now. Adult characters.

_Kuzu no Honkai_ (seen 2, rating 7-8) Dark high school "romance" with the
two main characters hooking up because they are each obsessed with an
unobtainable person (a teacher of the appropriate sex in each case) and
are willing to each pretend for the other. Well-done dialog so far.

_Seiren_ (seen 4, rating 6-7) Much more typical high school romance / dating
sim. I would have dropped this already except they are doing a very good
job at showing sexual tension without being explicit, which seems very rare
in such shows today. It looks like it's broken up into 4 episode arcs; I'll
at least start the next arc.

_Demi-chan wa Kataritai_ (seen 4, rating 6-7) Teacher interacts with
demi-humans students/teacher (vampire, dullahan, cold "monster",
succubi). Makes some nice points, but I don't know if it's going to sustain
interest after it's made the obvious points.

_Nobunga no Shinobi_ (seen 18, rating 8) Continuing shorts, discussed above.
