Hi!
I think there are quite a few people out there using the NTFS-3G driver for
Mac OS X, so this is important news for you:
http://www.h-online.com/open/features/Linux-and-Windows-8-Fa st-Startup-puts-data-at-risk-1780640.html
Since the last version for Mac OS X is stuck at 2010.10.2, there is hardly
going to be a fix for this on Macs. http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.co.at/
(BTW, if you use a Lion-compatible version of MacFUSE, NTFS-3G also works on
newer Intel-Macs.) http://macinformers.com/how-to-NTFS-3G-support-for-macosx-li on/
THIS IS A WARNING!
If you use it: please make sure, all partitions you mount on OS X were not in
use during a Windows 8 fast restarting featured shut-down.
Data loss will result!
Do not use drives/partitions that were mounted while Windows 8 was shut down
using this fast restarting feature technique. If you unmount it first (say, an
external NTFS formated disk), you’re safe. If you need to access the Windows 8
system partition or a partition on a fixed disk, shut down Windows 8
completely (without the new fast restarting hibernate-like shut-down).
Cheers,
