I though I'd pass along this observation: my Sony monitor, when in
the 640 X 400 hi-res mode, tends to lock onto sync a little TOO well,
resulting in (essentially) a 640 X 200 display where the lines for each
of the two fields overwrite one another, and the spaces between the
lines are readily visible. I've found that I have to turn the vertical
hold control almost to the point where the screen rolls in order to
get a nicely interlaced display. The benefit to this is that flicker
noticably decreases when I do it. I've seen the problem with three
independent Sonys, so suspect it's generic...
