Last night I found out a quick way to enjoy(?) the benifits(?) of
the workbench in "doubled-line" interlace mode. If you open one of the
widely-distributed pictures which features interlace mode, such as
the deamon or mandrill, (I use deamon, since it's shorter and quicker to
load) then hit amiga-N to bring the workbench screen to the front and pull
it (the workbench screen) down any amount, it'll then be in interlace mode
(at its full vertical size, due to line doubling). This works in intuition
ver 1.0. I've found that you can stop it by splitting the screen between
any screen not in interlace mode and the workbench screen (by pulling either
of them down). When the system flashes the screen in error, it sometimes
stops the interlace. And once in preferences, I moved one of the color
settings and it reverted. I find this to be preferable to setlace.c,
especially since I haven't gotten it onto my amiga yet. (I just got the
amiga talking through the serial port last night using Amigabasic.
