I have a ROM01 IIgs with a CFA3000 and ZipGS accelerator connected to my home Appletalk network. I now want to add my Apple II Pi to this setup.

Given that it is a ROM01 IIgs I am thinking that I have run out of slots if I want to continue to use my 3.5" and 5.25" floppy drives.

I current have the following setup:

Slot 1: Your Card (I have a local talk connect plugged into this port)
Slot 2: Your Card (CFFA3000)
Slot 3: Built-in Text Display (I have the ZipGS card in this slot)
Slot 4: Mouse Port
Slot 5: Smart Port
Slot 6: Disk Port
Slot 7: Built-in Appletalk (I need this for the local talk connector in Slot 1 to function)

If I put the Apple II Pi card in slot 4 will I lose mouse control when I am running GS/OS off the CFFA Card? Does the same go for Slots 5 and 6, I am assuming I will lose disk function if I set Slots 5 or to Your Card?

Any ideas, a ROM03 motherboard maybe?

You can put the card in Slot 1. Using the printer port for Appletalk
doesn't block the ability to use the slot for other purposes.

I am not sure that will work as it is mu understanding that the Apple II Pi card acts as a serial card. Would putting it in slot 1 override serial functions?

I think you should be OK with slot 4. Although the Pi card looks physically like a serial card, it has no ROM to conflict with. The virtual drives should work in slot 4 as the mouse card isn't a block device. Are you using AppleTalk to mount remote drives? If not, it should work in those slots, too.

Not only that, in a ROM1, I think the Slot 4 settings for the Mouse only affect 8-bit programs, not GS/OS. Would be easy to test, of course.
