I'm pleased to announce that I've been given FULL PERMISSION to
reproduce the C-64 MULTICART and that I'll be giving periodic updates
as to when they will become available to the public once again!

the internet points to your post above? =) wtf is it? =)

Full permission by who to reproduce what exactly?

Never tried it. STRANGE! Nevertheless, the "MAGIC DESK" experiment
is not complete yet as there are still some "BUGS" to work out and
some questions that I have with it still that I'm trying to get
answered for me. Also, it's just a "PERSONAL" thing.
The C-64 Multicart a BUSINESS thing! Quite different I would think..

Nice quote there! ;)

Neither. Although I will admit that because IT IS A CARTRIDGE, it's
closer to the second link. However because it's a regular ROM based
cartridge with a 512k Eprom inside with a menu driven running
capability and NO FLASHING whatsoever, it's still totally different.

Thanks for asking, Bill!

Have a great week!

It was called the FB512 MULTICART produced by Fotios, but I asked him
if I could make them available to the public again and he allowed me
to. ;) So now I'm not too sure what they'll be called EXACTLY, but
just that they will soon re available once more.

Take care Clock!

I can humbly suggest you to try to avoid stock & cheap marketing
techniques ? I refer to the use of all caps in certain words you want to
emphatize, whose, sincerely, give a feel of... mh, what is the colloqual
term in USA ? feel of an used car dealer ?

no offence, I'm unsure that I have well explained what I mean....

Best regards from Italy,
dott. Piergiorgio.

The FB512 wasn't menu driven, so you're going to add that functionality?

It's an open source product, so everyone was already given explicit
permission to do this anyway...

In the USA, we'd call this a "high pressure sale", though I'm not inclined to apply that term to Charles' posts.

That said... Charles, he's right about the CAPS and the "quotes". Stop using them. Please. Really. Stop it. You're using them both *entirely* wrong. :-)

Which isn't a FB512 (as Charles described it), which doesn't support a menu
as it has switches for bank selection.

If Charles is talking about that you are talking about then 27(C)64/128/512
EPROMs aren't going to be much use to him.either

As Fotios wrote and was quoted at

http://sleepingelephant.com/ipw-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.ph p?p=38300&highlight=#38300

"I've recently posted off one of my FB-JumboCarts to Charles Gutman of
8-Bit Designs. It's
very basic in comparison to the mega-cart. The version sent to Charles
supports 63 x 8KB
C64 cartidge ROM dumps and a simple menu. I also have another version
that stores 63 x
16KB cartidges ROMs plus menu. "

If you still don't believe it, you can ask Fotios directly.

<snip>

That is not a FB512 as Charles called and which is a different beast
entirely!

The FB512 and Jumbocart are not the same thing and don't have the same
features.

I wanted to get clarification on what he was going to produce, as the
features he described did not match those of the FB512.

I hope that clears things up for you.

No it wasn't, it was called the Jumbocart. The FB512 is a basic manually
bank switched non-menu driven multicart.

Anyway, doesn't the Jumbocart use a 27c801 EPROM?

OK! <sigh>. Apologies for THE CAPS as there is NO "high pressure"
of ANY sort here intended. Just simple emphasis on a few things that I
was trying to point out is all. I'm not making any sales YET so there
is no sales "pitch." So if I offended anyone (Vanessa, or anybody
else) apologies for the misunderstanding as the way I type is just a
reflection of my personality. ;) Hehehehe

Second, your correct in that I SAID the wrong thing , Clocky! The
512 "J" is the wrong beast entirely. I seriously don't recall if the
name is Jumbocart, Megacart, Multicart or whatever! Truth being told,
I really don't even know for certain what IC I will even be using just
yet till I get all the details in the mail in a few more days.

All I was trying to do was to let everyone know that I was "working
with something finally" in the hopes that I could come up with
something useful and appreciated by the community is all.

So in BOTH cases, I stand corrected. ;)

Thankfully you understand what I was getting at even if Robert doesn't but
has to stick his nose in regsardless :-) Anyway, that's OK thanks for the
clarification. That Jumbocart looks like an interesting device for sure. I'm
pretty sure it uses the same EPROM as my Creativision multicart, the 27C801
or 27C4001, so you might want to wait until you get the parts list as the
27(C)64/128/512 EPROM's or their EEPROM equivalents may not be terribly
useful in that case.
