I did post an article link to io9 over the weekend concerning this,
but as with so many of my post attempts here, it hasn't shown up

Agreed, not much more to say. My condolences to his family and friends.
A question for the group:
In July of last year JMS posted a Facebook request on the whereabouts and condition of O'Hare.
Was the cause of death in any way related to O'Hare's condition/situation last year?

He was retiring from public life then. He died of a heart attack.
It's possible that he retired from public life for health reasons, I guess.

Aye to that. It's so sad to have lost so many so soon. May Michael rest well beyond the rim.

Sad news indeed, and a surprise to someone who doesn't pay attention.

So my remarking about posts routinely not showing up here is a source
of "entertainment" or "annoyance" rather than curiosity or simple
interest?
Gee, why am I not surprised? That sure does explain a lot.

I see, so it took my post A WEEK to finally appear here, and not only
do you not think that at all odd apparently, but you find my remarking
about it funny or bothersome. I'm glad we've cleared that up. No
wonder this newsgroup has had such a marked tendency for rubbing me
the wrong way through the years.

Ignoring other issues, if you bothered to look at my other posts, you'll
see the "entertained (or was it annoyed?)" is used in *all* my posts in
*all* newsnet groups... it is possible to be *too* paranoid, you know...

And you don't view that manner of quoting someone to be at all
provocative and potentially hostile? Additionally, why should I, or
anyone for that matter, be required to view your posts elsewhere to
see how you go about quoting people?
So call it "paranoid" if you want to, but you're the one who decided
to set your style of replying to someone that way, not me.

Sure it has, though not by a long shot in actuality. Of course, you're
probably the bum who's made it a point of ditching my posts here
through the years, so why should I expect any different.
