I haven't watched the Rifftrax DVD of Missile To The Moon yet,
but taking a peak at it, it's a pure dvd of Missile To The Moon,
with audio "commentary" on by default and easily switched off
for the "naked" movie. There's no colorization crap, no
downloading, no extraneous garbage that Legend Films/rifftrax is
known for. Legend Films is being unexpectedly respectful to it's
product; this is a good thing.
Very unrespectful of "psychotronic" films is something like the
Canned Film Festival broadcast of Robot Monster; all scenes with
dinosaurs have been deleted without explanation! Screw you,
Canned Films! But you get to hear the Elmer Bernstein score,
the best he ever did.
As disrespectual to Robot Monster is the Rhino 3D VHS version,
which toys and rearranges the soundtrack, ruining the themes in
the score. It also changes the order of scenes to make it seem
cruddy. (Rhino: "ha ha, bad movie, let's jerk it around some
more.") But there is dinosaurs, but part of the second lizard
scene is deleted, because of the jerks at rhino.
Theatre presentation of Cat Woman of the Moon: The scene where
the giant spider hassles the astronauts, twice, and the focus
is chosen to twirl in and out throughout the scene, the best
part of the movie, ruined because the theatre decided that
"ha ha, bad movie, let's make this more memorable."
Another theatre disrespect is shown by switching a couple reels
in Plan 9 From Outer Space, so that confusion is sown between
whether 2 or 3 people have arisen from the dead: "ha ha, famous
bad movie, let's switch reels and see if anyone complains.")
From disrespect to respect. Don't dis the flicks by dishonest
flickery. Legend Films and Rhino have shown improvement.
