Oh, c64s and PC64
has a much better printer emulation as vice.
my small company (about 10 people) still work
with a own written programm to handle the
timemanagement, on 3 pices of old windows 98
computers. (everithing else in my
company worked on linux)
i have had no way to get
the printing (in all parts of my software)
running in vice.....
so, until vice will not have a "real c64" compatible
printing there is still a interest in c64s and or
pc64
.... and if you think why in the hell did this guy not
rewrite his bad printing stuff in his own software?
mh, because of no time, and because of the bad code...
.... some parts in assembler, some parts in basic,
some parts in "basic-boss-compiler-basic" and then
compiled with basicboss...
.... but the software is now more than 20 years old,
and i havent found anithing similar on the market,
only a fine (printer) emulation is still missing.. ;-((((
many years before i have asked here and tried
to get in contact with vice-team, but with no result.
:-(((((
================================
2.) and if anybody from viceteam read this,
i still own a old rossmueller 4mhz c64 card,
(i think there is a processor on it normally developed
for the c65)
this card is (as i know) still the only
way to play elite with 3.2 (stable) or with 4mhz (unstable)
every emulator i tried (please correct my if this is wrong)
will also speed up the sound in the game, the rossmueller
card did only speed up the game, NOT the sound!!
================================
and
3) could anybody tell me a linux tool
for the HVSC with support fo the STIL ?
i actually use deathbeef.

well, this group really isnt the right place to contact the vice team :) if
you think there is a problem with the printer emulation, then you should
post it on the bugtracker (
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=223021&atid=10 57617 ) - preferably
with a testcase (ie, your software) and instructions on how to reproduce it.
thats the only way to get it fixed eventually (right now there are no known
bugs in the printer emulation).

um yes, your point being? :) speeding up the emulation naturally means
speeding everything - doing something like turbo process does, ie only
speeding up the cpu, would usually require a bunch of extra things in the
emulator logic, essentially meaning that you'd have to emulate the cartridge
(and its cpu). that kind of stuff is on our todo list (and infact, blacky
started with implementing various cpu cores), but it will still take a
(long) while until its implemented.
