Okay everybody, this is honest confusion on my part. Last night, Channel
11 in New York showed a startrek (sorry team, I never really know the titles)
with the Dolman (sp?) whose tears were a love potion on Kirk, and they were
attacked by the Romulans, her necklace had emergency replacement di-lithium
crystals, blah, blah, blah. Anyway, I swear this version was cut down
for commercials so that we never saw the antidote Bones was working on for
Kirk. I remember Bones looking, I remember the Ambassador saying that
people have been looking for the antidote for generations on his planet
with no luck...the next thing I know Kirk is taking charge of the ship
and yelling "turn, pivot and fire at warp factor two". Okay, did I miss
the antidote scene (completely possidid they cut it out for commercials, or is
Kirk still wandering around under the influence ("you know that gypsy with
the old tatoo....she's got a pad down at.....)"

Kirk found his own cure--Enterprise. It is not surprising, since I'm
sure there are countless episodes where Kirk is referred to as already
married (to his ship) etc. It only goes to show the strength (of mind)
of a starship captain.

Yah, you got the axe. In "Elaan of Troyius" McCoy does find
	a chemical antidote...but Kirk doesn't need it.

Mc Coy did find the antidote at the end of the episode, but by
that time it was not nescesary; Kirk was apparently able to
'throw off' the effects of the potion. Paraphrasing Mr. Spock,
his first love was the Enterprise.

What I want to know, is did the Federation volunteer to give this antidote
to the Elasians? After all, according to the green skinned ambassador, the
men of that planet had been searching for an antidote for years.

Of course, if they did, it would probably terribly disrupt that planet's
social system! There are other questions one might ask. E.g., what was
the shelf life of the tears? Could an Elasian woman just cry some tears,
put them in a bottle, and then sprinkle them on some unsuspecting, or even
unwilling, male? And so on...
