There was a brief blip of mis-data on Shout's site falsely speculating

Still can't help theorizing: Judging by the fact that they were at

mix and matching of "Crawling Eye", "Laserblast" and/or "Diabolik" as
some Alpha-to-Omega explanation of the show's beginning and ending canon?

year"...A set, that is, not an anniversary)

I guess they'll shout it out then, so to speak!

Some subset, of size four, of episodes actually made during the show's
run. Anything else would fall far short of what *I* would expect in a
20th Anniversary Boxset!

Or maybe it was just AN INGENIOUS "TRIAL BALLOON"!

If they're thinking of "Laserblast", then perhaps the series "The
Magic Sword", "Kitten with a Whip", "Danger! Death Ray", and
"Laserblast" could be seen as capturing the "Weaponry" aspect of the
show's mis-en-scene!

Well, yes, there are more weapons-based films than those I listed, I
suppose! Or maybe they'll go in a more *ocular* direction!

Ocular, yet jocular?

I for one am glad to let it all out.

Tins. Wow. I haven't got a DVD in a tin since the hard days
during the war just as Fred Allen rationing was coming to an end.

Given the apparent size of the tin it seems like a waste of
volume if it is just the quartet of DVDs. I have a great deal of faith
in the Shout folks -- look at the SCTV discs -- but it does seem like a
lot of space.

Oh, no, 'Werewolf' is just absurd for an anniversary set. What
they surely meant was 'Teenage Caveman'.

'Kitten With A Whip' would be fine for an anniversary set for
me, since that was the first episode I saw in full, but that's doing
a lot more customization than I would have figured even for Shout.

Actually, my guess for stuff to fill out a 20th Anniversary
Set, as long as we're not constrained by any budgetary, legal, or
sanity-related issues would be the various extracurricular activities,
like _This Is MST3K_ or the Gold Statuette shows.

How about an Attack-and-Invasion set? Rocket Attack USA,
Invasion USA, Attack of the the Eye Creatures, Invasion of the Neptune
Men? We could have so much stuff destroyed, and at two in the
afternoon.

Isn't that how Hawkeye and BJ imitated Father Mulcahy?

I assume, given the tin *and* the Anniversary moniker, it's built to
hold a lot of Stuff.
Not episodes, per se, just Stuff. (As is the current trend for DVD
marketing these days.)

Derek Janssen (qv. Warner, who has at least six major Stuff sets coming out)

Well, if you let the dogs out, be sure to slap these "20th
Anniversary" ads on them before you do! They'll be on a collision
course with commercial wackiness!

Yeah, those were the times when you'd often have to hand-crank them,
which would cause *havoc* with the ADA synchronization!

Well, we don't really know the scale, do we? They might have done
something they thought was quite clever, and lopped off a bit of the
side of each DVD to put in the top section! No doubt, a similar
tactic back in the 45 rpm days led to the derogatory term,
"Squaresville"!

Of course! An unexpected post-apocalyptic climax is surely de rigeur
in your "anniversary set". There's AT LEAST ONE in the "M. Night
Shyamalan" anniversary boxset, isn't there? Or maybe that's AT LEAST
ONE PER FILM :-)

If I were to whisper the magic incantation, "K01-K03", would it help,
or hinder a certain improbable event happening? ;-)

Hey, with so much attacking and invading going on, you just might have
some *invaders* being *attacked*, and vice-versa, which would work out
pretty well!

It might be efficient for one to do the voice, and the other to reach
through the armpits of the first to do the "blessing hands". But,
despite how IDEAL this arrangement seems, IT MIGHT NOT STAND UP TO
CLOSE SCRUTINY!

-Doug Elrod (dre1@cornell.edu)
Hmmm, how about a box-set boxset, with the highlight being "Future
War", of course! :-)
